The camera came with the following standard equipment:

  • Power cord for battery charger
  • Lens cap
  • Lens hood and the adapter (shown mounted together)
  • Battery charger(*)
  • Two AA rechargeable batteries (with case)
  • A/V cable
  • USB cable

*: The battery charger takes about 6 hours to fully charge two 2500 mAh AA batteries.

Transferring Images off of the Camera

For Microsoft Windows OS

In order to transfer images from the camera to a computer you may have to install a USB driver for the camera. In addition, one may optionally install an application to manage and organize photos.

  • Both the USB driver and photo management software are available on PROBE at the following location:

    S:\Biomed\Software\SONY Cyber-shot DSC-H5

    (Both the driver and application install at the same time. The driver alone may be downloaded from the Sony web site.)

For Mac OS

  • iPhoto is supposed to work fine with the camera. Sony does not have software for Macs.

Warranty

The camera was purchased on May 31, 2007 with 48 months of extended warranty. (For a total of 5 years of warranty.)

For warranty repair, bring the camera to a Maison Sony store with a copy of the sales receipt. (A copy of the receipt may be found in the binder set aside to hold original documents that came with the camera. A scan of the receipt is also available on PROBE at S:\Biomed\BMED\Administration\Sales Receipts\
