The Sustainability Projects Fund is looking for a new PGSS representative!

Published: 29 April 2019

The Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF) is looking for a Post-Graduate Student Society representative to sit on its Governance Council (GC) starting in Summer/Fall 2019 for a two-year mandate.

The PGSS representative would be one of eight GC members who ensure that the SPF meets its mandate to build a culture of sustainability on McGill campuses through the development and seed-funding of interdisciplinary projects. The GC evaluates applications for sustainability projects on campus using the SPF Evaluation Criteria. Additionally, it provides input on the governance and administration of the Fund itself.

Each representative is selected based on their level of engagement within McGill University, their understanding of sustainability as a whole and within the McGill community, and the complementarity of their expertise in relation to the other GC members. Members commit to attending a 2-hour meeting each month during the academic year and to reading all meeting documents in advance (~3 hours of preparation). The date of meetings are set after consulting members’ schedules.

Sitting on the SPF GC is a great opportunity to take an active role in advancing sustainability in the McGill community, as well as participate in a diverse group that uses consensus-based decision-making and systems thinking in their deliberations.

Interested PGSS members should apply to the PGSS Appointments Board by Friday, May 3, following the instructions listed on the PGSS Get Involved page.
