Moving Towards Carbon Neutrality - Climate & Sustainability Roadshow

Thursday, February 11, 2021 12:00to12:45

Sustainability is a multifaceted concept. From the environment to the economy, everyone has a role to play in building a sustainable society for all.

Join the McGill Office of Sustainability and campus partners for the Climate & Sustainability Roadshow, a series of three webinars that will dive deep into the three pillars of sustainability--economic, environment, and social.

How can we reduce McGill’s carbon footprint?

In this 45-minute talk, Dr. Cynthia Kallenbach (Assistant Professor, Dept. Natural Resource Sciences), Charles Choi (SSMU DriveSafe), and Josh Huizinga (Energy Manager, Facilities Management and Ancillary Services) will discuss how we can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to reach our goal of carbon neutrality by 2040. Learn more about the university’s energy systems, the importance of reducing and sequestering our emissions, and how students are finding ways to diminish the carbon footprint of their activities.

This session will highlight the Travel & Commuting, Buildings & Utilities, and Landscapes & Ecosystems categories of the McGill University Climate & Sustainability Strategy, and the carbon neutrality long-term target.

The webinars will be hosted live on YouTube. Submit your questions live or to sustainability [at] mcgill.ca This event will be hosted in English.
