NSERC Collaborative Research and Training Experience Program (CREATE) Infosession
McGill University’s Office of Sponsored Research is hosting an information session on a funding opportunity through the NSERC Collaborative Research and Training Experience Program (CREATE).
The goal of this program is to support the development by groups of researchers of innovative training programs for students (mainly graduate), using interdisciplinary/integrative approaches and complementary professional training to produce a highly qualified workforce for industry, government, non-governmental organizations, and/or academia. Participation of PDFs is encouraged insofar as they bring clear benefits to the students’ training.
Programs build on existing university courses and may include aspects of health sciences and social sciences and humanities if beneficial to the students. Priority areas are: environmental science and technologies, natural resources and energy, manufacturing, and ICTs, but other areas are acceptable.
Three streams are offered:
- regular (incl. internship and partnering opportunities);
- industrial (50% of the awards - focus on job-readiness, with mandatory internships, industry collaborations and specific professional training); and
- international (for German-Canadian training programs only – see website for details).
