Varian Mercury (two-channel, VT, z gradient)

  • AutoNUC (most commonly used): simultaneously tuned to 1H, 19F, and 31P, with z gradient (good for 2D).
  • Inverse: 1H and either 31P (usual) or 13C (rare), with z gradient (good for 2D, but mediocre for 31P direct detection and poor for 13C direct detection)
  • SW: 1H (usual) or 19F (rare), and 13C or 31P. No z gradient, but good for 13C detection.

This instrument does not require signup, but if someone is waiting, limit yourself to two samples.

The instrument can do high temperature work up to 120 ºC.  Ask for training.

It can also do 13C work with 19F decoupling.  Ask for more information.
