Request for Attestation Letter or Form Completion

For Current Law students only**

(including Special, Visiting, and Incoming Exchange students)

This form is for McGill Law students who need an attestation letter from the SAO that is not already available via Minerva or any other source, or who require the SAO to complete a form from an external organization.
Note: This is not the correct form for Bar or licensing-related attestations. Please use the Bar Attestation form instead.

**Not a current student and/or are a McGill Law Alum? No longer have Minerva access? You may submit your request via the form linked here: Request for Attestation Letter or Form Request for McGill Law Alums.

Before You Submit

Please first check whether the letter or form you need is already available through one of the following self-serve options:

On Minerva

Letters such as Proof of Enrolment, Proof of Graduation, and Proof of Credits Completed to Date. You can find more info here: Enrolment Letters.

    • Incoming Exchange Students may use this letter once registered for at least one course.
    • Outgoing Exchange Students can access the Confirmation of Exchange letter via the McGill Exchange/Study Away Request form.

    Via Service Point

Examples of letters available include: Letter of Accreditation of the University, Sessional Dates letters (the calendar dates for the academic year, includes dates for exam periods), Registration Dates letters

Some organizations may require a combination of letters/documents, from Minerva or Service Point, to serve as proof of your enrolment at the University. Before requesting a letter from the SAO, please try using a combination of the available letters. This helps reduce unnecessary administrative workload and ensures a faster turnaround time for you.

    Request Deadlines

To ensure timely processing, please submit your request at least 10 business days before the date by which you need the letter or completed form. If your request is time-sensitive, you may indicate the deadline clearly in the “Reason for Attestation Letter” field and ensure all required documentation is attached. Please note: While we will do our best to accommodate urgent requests, they are not guaranteed to be prioritized or processed ahead of others. Priority will only be given if capacity allows.
