Becoming First: Exploring First-Gen Identity and Self-Care Strategies

Find your strength and resilience as a First-Generation* student in this guided workshop!

Access advisors will lead students through empowerment exercises and self-care strategies for the semester and beyond. This will be followed by an academic success session where students will be able to learn more about effective goal-setting and note-taking skills.

(We allow students to self-identify as "First-Generation", but it typically means students whose parent(s) or caregivers did not complete a four-year college or university degree. This can include students whose parents did not complete a four-year degree in Canada or the United States, and students who are or were youth in care.​)
