The Faculty of Engineering welcomed a new professor this semester:
F. Albert Liu
Associate Professor
Civil Engineering
Prof. F. Albert Liu’s research focuses on understanding and mitigating the impacts of natural and human-induced disasters, with a particular emphasis on geohazards as well as advanced sensing and resilient engineering solutions for post-disaster community and system recovery. He received his M.Eng. in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol, his M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering and Computational Science & Engineering, respectively, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining McGill, he was an Assistant Professor in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Alberta.
