Radioactive shipment: How to legally receive and open a radioactive shipment - TDG Type A Package Training

Online session for students, staff and faculty: Members of the McGill community who are required to open radioactive packages must follow the online presentation.

Content: You will learn how to receive and open a radioactive type A package as well as excepted package according to Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) TS-R-1 regulations.
Certification: This training is mandatory for all laboratory users who receive and open radioactive material shipments. In order to get your certificate, you need to register for the exam on the safety training exams page on the Environmental Health and Safety website. A minimum of 80% on your examination is required to get your certification.

Formation en ligne pour les membres de la communauté étudiante, du corps professoral et du personnel. Cette formation est obligatoire pour toutes les personnes qui doivent ouvrir des colis contenant des matières radioactives.
Coût : Gratuit pour les membres de la communauté étudiante, du corps professoral et du personnel
Contenu : La formation présente les règles à observer pour recevoir et ouvrir un colis radioactif de type A et tout colis excepté selon le Règlement de transport des matières radioactives n° TS-R-1 de l’Agence internationale de l’énergie atomique (AIEA).
Certificat : La formation est obligatoire pour toutes les personnes qui reçoivent et ouvrent des colis de matières radioactives dans le cadre de leur travail en laboratoire. Pour obtenir son certificat, il faut obtenir au moins 80 % à l’examen (inscription à l'examen).
