From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Laser Safety Training

Target Audience: All staff and students required to work with a class 3B and/or 4 laser must follow this course.

Training: You can view the Laser Safety Online Training video (McGill log-in required). Those working with class 3B and/or 4 lasers are required to participate in the Occupational Health Program, and need to complete a baseline eye exam.

McGill students, staff and faculty can complete the online course and exam using the EHS Safety Training System - Web Training.

Non-McGill student registrants please complete and submit the Paying Participant Training Form.

Certification: A Laser Safety Course certificate is presented to participants who successfully complete the written exam. Certification is valid for a period of 3 years. If you have participated in a Laser Safety Course within the last 3 years, you are not required to re-take the training.

Duration: 1.75 hours (excludes examination time)

Cost (McGill): Free for the McGill Community (students, staff and faculty). 

Cost (Non-McGill): $50 (if paid by PI); $150.00 per person plus applicable taxes for other payment methods
