"Who's your favourite author?" It can be interesting to find out how someone answers this question because it gives you a glimpse into who they are through their likes and dislikes. Authors whom we enjoy are usually those that resonate with us through their style of writing and subject matter.
When it comes to diversity of authors and topics, a rich source of reading material can be found in the WMS on websites that publish magazine-like content using the ‘Article’ content type. If you come across an article on a site that draws you in, the WMS makes it easy for you to read more from that writer.
Articles by author
The Original Author field in WMS articles generates a byline that appears at the top of each article. If the field is filled in, the byline turns into a link and clicking on it brings you to a list of all articles on the site by that author.
One caveat to keep in mind when using this feature is that the author's name must be spelled out exactly the same way in each of their articles. Otherwise, you end up with a list of articles by J. K. Rowling and also J.K. Rowling. (Did you spot the difference?)
Backdating or postdating articles
Another clever feature of WMS articles is the ability to backdate or postdate articles.
This could be useful for a scenario such as removing content from one platform and reproducing it in the WMS instead. Once an article's been recreated, it can be timestamped as though it was published in the past.
What are the limits of the WMS time machine? Well, if you're a fan of Edwardian era literature, you can rewrite history as far back as 1901. But if sci-fi is more your genre, launch your article into the future of 2038.
