A short while back we implemented a design update to the Articles block. The update introduced an enhanced layout that displays article titles, and teaser text in a grid format along with thumbnail images.
Here's a sample screenshot of a revamped Articles block:
Back to the good ol' days
Though site managers and visitors responded positively to the new updates, we came to realize that there may be some cases where the old, 'simple' formatting might be a better fit.
The old Articles block was formatted as a list of articles without images that included article titles, teaser text and 'Read more' links.
Here's screenshot of the same article content above with the old formatting:
Choosing a layout
The two layout options are generated by blocks that are available by default on every WMS site, Articles - with thumbnails and Articles - Simple. Site Managers can activate these blocks by signing into their site, going to Structure > Blocks. Detailed instructions can be found in the IT Knowledge Base.
- Create an article and enable the Articles Block
