“Sustainability” is a buzzword these days, but what does it really mean and how can we concretely work towards it? In this workshop, participants will learn what sustainability encompasses and how to get involved in campus initiatives, both in person and remotely. Through a presentation and discussion questions, participants will explore what initiatives are taking place at McGill, as well as how they can relate these principles to their actions on campus and at home.

In this training, participants will learn about key sustainability concepts and how to incorporate these dimensions into their role. Whether working remotely or in the office, participants can learn how to apply sustainability best practices, behaviour change frameworks, and tools to foster environmental and social change.

What are sustainable best practices for event planners at McGill? How can event planners boost engagement at their events and reduce waste at the same time? This workshop will provide staff with the tools to plan sustainable in-person and virtual events at McGill by providing an overview of the McGill Sustainable Events program.
