Published: 10Nov2020

This is a reminder to all principal investigators to complete their Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund Stage 3 claims as soon as possible.

CRCEF Stage 3 allows for the reimbursement of up to 75% of extraordinary Covid-19-related research expenses (e.g., personal protective equipment; software or computer equipment to move research online; extraordinary salary costs related to animal or specimen care; maintenance of equipment, cohorts, and datasets, including warranties, licenses and service contracts; or extraordinary salary costs related to reorganizing the research environment).

Expenses must have been incurred between March 15, 2020 and November 15, 2020 and be associated with maintenance or ramp-up of research activities. Click here for more details.

Claims against Stage 3 of the CRCEF may include a broad range of research source funds, including all Tri-Agency programs, Canada Foundation for Innovation Infrastructure Operating Funds, start-up funds, the Professional Development Allowance fund, and international grants, such as NIH grants, foundations and industry sources. The CRCEF is open to principal investigators working in any discipline who incurred eligible expenses.

You can download the CRCEF Stage 3 claim template here. Please reach out to your Faculty Financial Officer no later than November 20 for assistance in completing and submitting your claim:
