Starting university means meeting new friends, exploring the campus and city, and expanding your horizons. For many, it also means the freedom and responsibility of having to make your own meal choices for the first time. McGill Food and Dining Services knows that good nutrition is essential to overall health and well-being, and we do everything we can to help you eat healthily. No matter which meal plan or campus food location you choose, we offer lots of high-quality, nutritious options, all available with the swipe of a meal card.
Our menus are based on the principles of Eating Well with Canada's Food Guide to ensure well-balanced and diverse food offerings at every meal. Our menus feature seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads and cereals, low-fat dairy products, lean cuts of meats, and a variety of meat alternates like tofu and legumes. We take great care in selecting heart smart oils, such as olive and canola, and we use healthy cooking methods such as grilling, broiling and baking whenever possible.
