Dr. Jennifer Drouin is a lawyer who teaches the bilingual “Introduction to Law for Non-Jurists” course for the Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation. In designing “Introduction to Law for Non-Jurists”, she summarized 13 different areas of both civil law and common law into a single course that provides translators with the French and English vocabulary and legal concepts that are typically acquired in the first year and a half of the joint BCL/LLB degrees in McGill’s Faculty of Law.
Previously, Dr. Drouin was a tenured Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Alabama. She has also taught courses or held Visiting Professor positions at Concordia University, Université de Montréal, Oxford University, Université du Havre, Allegheny College, Acadia University, and Université Sainte-Anne.
