McGill Law’s Career Development Office (CDO) is pleased to announce a collaboration with Loue 1 Robe / Loue 1 Tux. Through this partnership, we are launching an innovative pilot project that will allow students to rent professional attire for interviews and networking activities at an affordable price. Quebec-based company Tristan will provide the clothing.
This initiative is in line with several of the CDO's objectives, which includes fostering the inclusion of students from all walks of life as well as assisting with their entry into the profession.

Scientists have been looking at pollution affecting the air, land and water around the Athabasca Oil Sands for some time. After looking at contaminants in snow taken from up-to 25 km away from the oil sands, a McGill-led scientific team now suggests that oil sand pollution is also affecting the weather patterns in the surrounding regions.
Montreal is undertaking a major overhaul of its transportation networks and services, with major projects like the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) and the Pie-IX bus rapid transit (BRT) underway. On October 22nd, Montreal City Council members came to a mutual research agreement between the City and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montreal (CIRM) for the realization of a project regarding the implementation of the Politique de l’enfant’s five intervention axes “Naître, grandir, s’épanouir à Montréal: de l’enfant à l’adolescence”.
On November 6, 2019, McGill Education's Dr. Claudia Mitchell was honoured by the Government of Quebec, having been awarded the Prix du Quebec, specifically the Léon-Gérin Prize, for her exemplary research career in the humanities and social sciences. A Distinguished James McGill Professor, Dr. Mitchell is the Director of the Institute for Human Development and Well-Being, Founder of the Participatory Cultures Lab, and a faculty member of McGill's Department of Integrated Studies in Education.
Longueuil police have proposed a new initiative called “John School”, which would educate individuals apprehended for soliciting prostitution as an alternative to criminal prosecution. Headed by McGill alumnus and chief of Longueuil police Fady Dagher (EMBA’2012), the initiative aims to educate first-time offenders of the realities of the sex trade and reduce rates of reoffending.
