A Governor General Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement for Violinist Andrew Dawes
The violinist Andrew Dawes, (who held the inaugural Catherine Thornhill Steel Chair from September 1, 2006 to April 30, 2007) has been awarded a Governor General's Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. Dawes will receive the award, and a cash prize of $25,000 in a ceremony to be held May 31, 2013 in Ottawa.
