IT Services will be upgrading McGill’s Internet firewall on Saturday, Nov.15, 2025. As a result of this necessary upgrade, there is a possibility that on-campus users may be temporarily unable to access the Internet for a brief period between 6:00-6:30 a.m. Some McGill online services may also be temporarily unavailable during this same period.
As part of a scheduled downtime, access to the applications indicated below will be limited for the following period:
📅 Date: Saturday, November 15th
⏰ Time: 12 pm to 5 pm
- myThesis: The application will be unavailable for all users, for the duration of the downtime.
Banner and Minerva will be unavailable for maintenance between November 22nd 8:00AM to November 23rd, 11:59PM.

Please note that Spectrum NG Sign-on mechanism was updated today, February 28th, to an enhanced, up-to-date version including 2FA (Two-factor authentication). If you experience trouble signing-in, please reach out to the Service Desk and include the steps you followed and a screenshot of the error message.

Effective immediately, please be advised that the application TikTok must not be installed on any mobile device (i.e., mobile phone or tablet) that has been provided to you by the University, or on any mobile device for which McGill covers the cost of the mobile service. If you currently have TikTok installed on your McGill mobile device, you must remove it immediately.
