International students may activate their health insurance contract by accessing Minerva Student International Student Health Insurance Coverage Form. Doing this will allow you to pick up your health insurance card along with your student ID card upon arrival at McGill University.

 Course registration begins for newly admitted Quebec CEGEP students (scholarship recipients only)


June 11

➪ Pick-up of ID cards begins for Quebec CEGEP students at Service Point. Appointment required (June 5 - August 1, 2023).
➪ You must be registered for at least one course 24 hours before you obtain your McGill ID card.


June 12

 Course registration begins for all newly admitted Quebec CEGEP students (including Marie-de-France and Stanislas)


June 14

 Course registration begins for scholarship recipients only who are:

  • Students admitted to year U0 (Freshman year)
  • Students admitted to year U1 (this includes students who will be completing Advanced Levels or CAPE, French Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate or at least one year of university).

 Registration begins for all new undergraduate students admitted to year U0 (Freshman year) in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, Engineering (including Architecture), Nursing, Physical & Occupational Therapy, and Science

 Canadian students: Don't delay submitting the legal documents that affect your tuition and fees. Submitting early will help ensure your tuition and fees are billed at the correct residency rate in early August.
 Final deadline for need-based financial aid application for Entrance Bursary Program from McGill (https://www.mcgill.ca/studentaid/scholarships-aid/future-undergrads/need)
 Canadian students apply for government student aid by this date to ensure money arrives by September


June 30

 Application opens for McGill’s need-based Work Study Program that provides part-time work opportunities on campus. Go to www.mcgill.ca/studentaid/work-study for information on how to apply.

Beginning August 1

➪ International students may activate their health insurance contract by accessing Minerva ⇒ Student ⇒ International Student Health Insurance Coverage Form (August 1 - August 31). Doing this will allow you students to view, save, and print* their health insurance card.

➪ All students looking to obtain a Montreal reduced-fare public transit (OPUS) card can order it directly from Minerva (note: you must have a Quebec mailing address on record, so you may need to wait until you arrive in the city)


August 5

 Check Minerva for your Fall term e-bill – notification is sent by email to your McGill email address


August 14

 Deadline for all new students to register in at least one course to avoid a late registration penalty
