Wellness and Life Skills Workshops & Groups



These groups and workshops will give you tools to support your well-being as a student, or simply as a person, during this uncertain time. All are offered virtually for the time being.

All programs are offered by McGill's counsellors and Local Wellness Advisors.

COVID-19 Emotional Support Group

Are you struggling with distress and anxiety in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic? Has your mental health been impacted by social distancing or self-isolating measures? Do you feel alone? This online group is an opportunity to come together, share what you’ve been going through, and to receive support. Open to all McGill students.

Zen in 10

Interested in practicing mindfulness and not sure where to begin? Join us for Zen in 10 to participate in a short mindfulness exercise that you can integrate into your daily routine to cope with stress and reduce feelings of anxiety.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Management

Come learn and practice ways of using mindfulness to reduce stress, cope with upsetting emotions and manage your inner critic.

Skills for Coping with Perfectionism

Do you constantly criticize yourself? Do you feel your efforts are never good enough? Do you set unrealistic standards?

Join this group to discuss the role perfectionism plays in your life and develop tools for overcoming it.

Yoga for Stress & Anxiety

This 3-part workshop will be an opportunity to decompress and find some relief from anxiety and stress. We will learn about how stress and anxiety impacts our bodies, minds and nervous system, and use the physical and meditation principals from yoga to practice new ways of managing and coping with stress. No yoga experience necessary, all ages, genders, bodies and abilities welcome. Space is limited to 10 participants.
