These groups and workshops will give you tools to support your well-being and connect you to peers, no matter where you are this Fall. And don't forget to check out our On-Demand Programming, which is pre-recorded and available to watch whenever it suits you best!

You must consult with a clinician (mental health professional, nurse, medical doctor, Access Advisor, LWA, etc.) to register for group therapy.

Group Therapy is available on a limited basis during the COVID-19 closures. You can be referred to group therapy through a healthcare professional. To learn more about setting up an appointment with a healthcare professional, please visit the Access Virtual Services page.

Active Listening

Interested in improving your communication skills? Join us for this workshop to develop an understanding of what active listening consists of and how it can be practiced. This workshop will focus on defining what active listening is and isn't, explaining why active listening is both important and useful, and practicing active listening.

Cultivating a Positive Body Image

We are living in unprecedented times; our routines have been disrupted, we have been isolated and there is uncertainty as we move toward a 'new normal'. This 2-hour interactive workshop will address these challenges as they relate to body image. A body positive framework will be introduced as a way of developing a more positive relationship with our bodies and body image. Getting Sound Sleep

This workshop is intended for students who have difficulty falling or staying asleep at night due to anxiety or low mood, and who face difficulty during the day as a result of poor sleep. Topics covered will include a guided discussion on the structure and function of sleep, sleep regulation, insomnia and its causes, and strategies to improve sleep quality.

Quarantine Support Group

Have you been instructed to self-isolate for 14 days by Public Health or the Canada Border Services Agency? Are you feeling isolated while you quarantine? Has your mental health been impacted by the confinement? This online support group is an opportunity to come together, share what you’ve been going through, and receive support. Open to all McGill students who have recently arrived in Canada and are under the 14 day mandatory quarantine order and/or who have been instructed to self-isolate by a Public Health authority. Participants are welcome to attend any or all sessions while they self-isolate. Please register at least 2 hours prior to the start time of a session in order to receive the invitation to the online meeting.
