McGill is renowned for its academic excellence, with leading-edge programs and courses that attract top students from around the word.

The creation, revision, and retirement of academic programs and credit courses are subject to evaluation and approval, both at the University and (in some cases) externally. The process differs depending on the type and scope of proposal.

Our role

TAP offers guidance and support to all academic units throughout the development, revision, or retirement of academic programs and courses, serving as a liaison between all involved stakeholders.

TAP can assist with navigating the proposal process and help ensure submissions are accurate, complete, and ready for the approval stage.

The Associate Provost (Teaching and Academic Planning) is involved in reviewing program and course proposals, may resolve questions, and may determine if additional reviews are required.
