Upcoming session: Communicating with students about AI

As generative AI continues to shape the teaching and learning landscape, clear communication with students is an increasingly important consideration. Recent large-scale surveys, like the DEC Global Survey, suggest that students are looking to their instructors for guidance and clarity about expectations for AI use in their courses.
Join us for a conversation with instructors who will share how they address AI at the start of term, develop course outline statements, and facilitate productive discussions with students. Hear what colleagues are trying, what they’ve learned along the way, and ideas you can adapt for your own courses.

- Learn how other McGill instructors are managing gen AI in their classrooms.
- Find inspiration for using gen AI as part of your teaching practice.
- Explore the latest research on gen AI and pedagogy.

Membership
Available to all McGill instructors on a continuous basis. While we aim to foster community and continuity, participants can join at any time, and it is not necessary to attend all meetings throughout the academic year.
Meetings
- One hour approximately twice per term (held online).
- Each meeting will include a presentation component and a group discussion component.
