Take your generative AI skills to the next level in this interactive workshop. Through practical examples and teaching-focused scenarios, participants will explore strategies for crafting more effective, intentional, and context-rich prompts that can improve the quality, accuracy and relevancy of AI-generated outputs. Participants will also learn about advanced productivity features within Microsoft Copilot and explore potential applications for teaching and learning.

• Identify characteristics of effective prompts for educational use.
• Apply advanced prompting strategies to improve Copilot’s responses.
• Tailor prompts for different teaching scenarios (e.g., lesson planning, feedback, student engagement).

The “Teaching and Learning Community” provides a space to exchange ideas and build connections with colleagues exploring similar questions around the integration of AI in higher education.=

This upcoming session will explore what recent surveys reveal about how students are thinking about and using generative AI, and how the findings may inform our teaching. Join us for key insights and a discussion about the opportunities, challenges, and implications for your own courses.

Two years into the implementation of McGill’s Policy on the Assessment of Student Learning (PASL), we invite instructors to join a session focused on shared reflection and practical insight. Featuring instructor and student perspectives, the session will highlight practices that have made assessment more effective, fair, or meaningful under PASL. We aim to foster constructive dialogue and shared understanding as we continue to raise awareness about the policy and look forward in an ever-evolving assessment landscape.
