SP0196: Explore! Careers in Health

Status: COMPLETE June 2018 - July 2019

The Explore! Careers in Health project aims to empower underprivileged youth to consider careers in the health sciences. Over a three day period, from July 2-4, 2019, high school students from underprivileged backgrounds and rural areas of Quebec were invited to stay in a McGill residence free-of-charge, to participate in various sport, recreational and cultural activities, and to make new friendships.

Established in 2009, Explore! Careers in Health is a free program offered to high school students who are interested in health sciences. Participants will discover McGill University's downtown campus through 10 hands-on workshops (medicine, nursing, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, dentistry, anatomy, genetics, and dietetics).

Resources from the SPF will be used to improve the social or environmental aspects of the conference.
