ANAT 315. Clinical Human Musculoskeletal Anatomy.

Description

The regional human gross anatomy of the skeleton, joints, muscles and neurovascular structures of the body as it relates to physical and occupational therapists. Laboratories include the study of prepared cadaveric specimens and the completion of a cadaveric-dissection.

  • Restriction: Open to students in Physical and Occupational Therapy and Kinesiology. Not open to students who have taken or are taking ANAT 314.

PHGY 209. Mammalian Physiology 1.

  • Although PHGY 210 may be taken without the prior passing of PHGY 209, students should note that they may have some initial difficulties because of lack of familiarity with some basic concepts introduced in PHGY 209

Description

This course addresses the fundamentals of professionalism and professional behavior, the principles of massage, professional touch, and basic profession-specific interviewing skills. Interviewing skills will be practiced with client-visits in the community. Cultural competence and its application to clinical practice, patient /therapist relationship, and web searching will be addressed.
  • 3 hours/week for 13 weeks
