After finishing high school at Collège Jean-Eudes, Jessica Gong decided to continue her education at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in the International Baccalaureate program in Health Sciences.
Having always been interested in biology and chemistry, especially human physiology and behavior, Jessica wants to pursue a career in the science field. She hopes that this internship will help her choose a path for her undergraduate studies.
Apart from her interest in science, Jessica undertakes various volunteer activities in her community. She is actively involved in the first aid group of Brébeuf, Amnesty International, and at the Lachine Hospital.
Jessica, under the supervision of Drs. King and Laplante, will have the honor of taking part in Project Ice Storm, a longitudinal study on the effects of prenatal stress on postnatal development from birth to young adulthood. Her study will exam the effects of prenatal stress on cortical thickness and verbal skills.
