Admissions

The Pediatric Residency Training Program has two primary admissions streams:

Canadian Residents Matching Services (CaRMS)

Selection for interviews is based on the combined evaluation of a candidate's CV, academic performance, CASPer results, personal statement, and reference letters. Selection interviews consist of three 30-minute individual interviews with members of the Selection Committee. Please note, fluency in English and French are required in our program and will be assessed during the interviews. For more information on application requirements and timelines, please consult CaRMS.

We understand that candidates do not have equal opportunities to take electives. While we encourage candidates to do an elective in Pediatrics, this is not a selection requirement for interviews. We do not require applicants to have done onsite electives.

There will be information sessions scheduled for potential applicants. Please refer to the CANPREPP calendar for details.

International Applications Sponsored by Contracts

Our program is open to International Medical Graduate (IMG) sponsored by contracts on a competitive basis with up to five positions being offered on an annual basis. Applications are made directly through the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) Office in the Faculty of Medicine via the sponsoring agent. Selection for interviews is based on the combined evaluation of a candidate's CV, academic performance, personal statement reference letters. Selection interviews consist of individual interviews and multiple mini interview (MMI) circuit. For more information on this admission stream please consult PGME Admissions. Important dates regarding admissions can be found on the PGME Key Dates webpage
