Jeffrey Wiseman

JEFFREY WISEMAN, MD, MEd, FRCPC, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Health Sciences Education at McGill University, a General Internist and a medical educational scholar. He is an Associate of the McGill Faculty of Education ATLAS (Advanced Technologies for Learning in Authentic Settings) Laboratory. He has served in the past as Chief Examiner for the Royal College of Canada oral certification examination in internal medicine, Chair of the McGill Undergraduate Internal Medicine Education Committee, Internal Medicine Clerkship Coordinator and Medical Director of a McGill University Health Centre Clinical Teaching Unit. He has created and participated in multiple Faculty Development programs locally and internationally. He is currently active in Faculty Development locally at McGill and internationally at the Royal College of Canada. He is a member of the LEADS (Learning Environments Across Disciplines) international research group.

Current research and development interests: Serious games in medical education; technology-rich learning environments; the roles of emotions and time in medical education; adaptive expertise in clinical reasoning; workplace-based health sciences education and approaches to conflict in different cultures.
