The role of Buildings and Grounds is to provide the McGill downtown campus community with an environment that is clean, safe and functional. The department and its units strive to provide efficient and quality services in the most sustainable way and are implementing numerous sustainability initiatives across our campuses.
Buildings and Grounds teams
Buildings and Grounds is comprised of several teams:
Building Services
Building Services provides regular cleaning and custodial services to ensure that all facilities are appropriately cleaned for daily use. Our team is dedicated to promoting sustainable cleaning standards in its daily maintenance operations while keeping the highest productivity and quality of services for the McGill community.
Events Support
The Events Support team is responsible for the physical set-up of all major events on McGill campuses, including the Convocation ceremonies, exams and Open House. Our team works closely with many other units on campus along with McGill's Room Bookings and Conference Services unit and Timetable Coordinators from various faculties.
Garage
Our team of mechanics is responsible for the maintenance of McGill fleet of vehicles, including tractors, trailers, portable generators, and other diesel, electric, and gas-powered equipment.
Grounds
Grounds Services offers landscaping services, grounds and turf maintenance and maintenance of outdoor furniture. The team is committed to creating a green, clean campus environment.

Mail Services
McGill’s Mail Services collect, process and dispatch internal and external mail for the university.
Printing Services
With our high-quality digital colour press and large format printer, McGill Printing Services can help bring your printing projects to reality.
Pallets
No pallets are to be left in corridors or in receiving docks areas at anytime.
When placing an order with a supplier, each departments must make the necessary arrangements for the pallets to be retrieved after delivery.
