Our units

Facilities Management and Ancillary Services (FMAS) draws on the expertise of more than 600 employees, who look after the physical development of McGill’s two campuses, the operation, maintenance, and upgrade of 870,000 square meters of space in more than 225 buildings, and the safety of nearly 50,000 students, faculty and staff.

FMAS encompasses three main areas of responsibility: maintenance and operations, campus transformation, and safety and prevention.

From our waste management and energy efficiency strategies to the environmental and wellbeing criteria we integrate into our construction projects and the planning of our campuses, FMAS oversees the integration of sustainable practices in the stewardship of McGill’s physical environment.
