Shubhangi Bhardwaj Awarded International Development Education Award and International Peace Scholarship

PhD student in Human Development (Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology), Shubhangi Bhardwaj, was announced as a recent recipient of Dr. Gauri Shankar Guha Award for International Development Education! Bhardwaj was also awarded the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) International Peace Scholarship for Women for the year 2025.

Dr. Tina Montreuil, ECP, Awarded the Prestigious FRQS Chercheur Boursier Junior 2 Award

Dr. Tina Montreuil, a researcher at the Educational and Counselling Psychology Department (Associate Member of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences), has been awarded the prestigious FRQS Chercheur Boursier Junior 2 award this past April 2025. 

Harm Reduction and Naloxone Training Workshops

Canada in general, and Montreal specifically, have been facing a drug toxicity and fatal overdose crisis for nearly a decade. While integrated systems of interventions are necessary to address drug-related harms, the use of naloxone has been a key strategy to reduce the acute effect of opioid-involved deaths. Currently, McGill does not offer naloxone trainings to the campus community, limiting students’ ability to assist in the event of an overdose.

Victoria Talwar Recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal

Congratulations go out to Victoria Talwar, ECP Professor and Director of the Daniel and Monica Gold Centre for Early Childhood Development, who was one of the recipients who received the King Charles III Coronation Medal at a ceremony held at the Royal Montreal Regiment in Westmount on March 20, 2025. 

Dr. Tina Montreuil Invited by Savoir Media for a Documentary on Family Health

Dr. Tina Montreuil, ECP, was invited to take part in a production and short documentary produced by Savoir média, to talk about the importance of supporting families during the perinatal period or the transition to parenthood. 

The documentary was filmed in our very own Education Faculty Learning Commons.
