Required Course

• CIVE 662 Master's (Thesis) Research Seminar (1 credit)

Complementary Courses (17 credits minimum)

A minimum of five courses at the 500 or 600 level, with at least 8 credits at the 600 level.

  1. Take mandatory web-based tutorial on academic integrity on Minerva
  2. Register on Minerva for REGN RCGR - CRN#179 for the Fall term and CRN#190 for the Winter term every year by Aug 14.

  • Register for 1-2 Thesis courses (remaining CIVE 6XX)
  • CIVE 662 Master's (Thesis) Research Seminar (1 credit) (must attend 5 seminars)

 

 

4th - 6th semester

(Additional Session)

 

 

No courses required; thesis writing

Thesis Submission-Steps

  1. Complete the initial thesis approx. a month before the thesis submission deadline- https://www.mcgill.ca/gps/thesis/deadlines
  2. Set date with the GPC to complete the research seminar and if necessary make changes to the thesis based on some of the questions and comments during the seminar-must be done prior to initial submission
  3. Submit electronic copy of thesis and nomination of examiner’s form to GPC at least 2 weeks prior to the initial submission deadline to ensure that the mandatory Head/Delegate signature is obtained
  4. Submit initial thesis and nomination of examiner’s form to GPS with a cc to supervisor and GPC
  5. There is an approx. 4-6 weeks for the examiner to file their report to the thesis office.
  6. Make the necessary corrections once the report is transmitted to student and supervisor.
  7. Submit final e-thesis (and approved by supervisor) by the deadline set by GPS-Apr 15 or Dec 15 or Aug 15
  8. Hand in the clearance form to the GPC
