Public Registers: Transversal Studies and Critical Reflections

Public registers have multiplied in recent years. Preliminary research conducted by the Crépeau Centre has identified more than 80 such registers in Quebec.

What are their uses, functions, and risks? These questions will be the focus of several activities at the Crépeau Centre in 2026–27 and 2027–28.

Here is the call for proposals.

Guidelines for presentation proposals

Please send us your proposal by March 31, 2026, to centre.crepeau [at] mcgill.ca. It must include a title and a summary of 100 to 150 words. Please specify whether you wish to participate in the international conference or the series of civil law workshops.

Depending on available resources, travel and accommodation expenses may be reimbursed. Funding requests are currently being processed.

The Crépeau Centre thanks the Chambre des notaires du Québec and the Department of Justice Canada for their financial support.
