We are pleased to welcome Professor Jin Guo as Associate Director, Research at the Computational and Data Systems Institute (CDSI). As a member of our executive team, Professor Guo will lead the coordination of CDSI’s research initiatives, helping to advance interdisciplinary collaboration in areas related to artificial intelligence, data science, and computing across McGill.

In her role, Professor Guo will foster strategic partnerships, support the development of major research initiatives and funding opportunities, and oversee key CDSI research programs, including seed funding and faculty-student research partnership initiatives. Through this work, she will help strengthen McGill’s collaborative research ecosystem and advance our mission of enabling innovative, data-driven discovery.

An Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science and an Associate Member at Mila, Professor Guo's work spans software engineering, human-computer interaction, and applied machine learning, with a focus on enabling stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to collaboratively engage with complex technical, design, and domain-specific challenges.

“I’m excited to help connect researchers with shared interests and break down silos across faculties," Professor Guo says. "I look forward to highlighting opportunities for collaboration within the McGill research community and encouraging more inclusive thinking about what it means to be data-driven, and how data can be used to create meaningful benefits for society.”
