Visualizing Daily Time Use on Housework in Canada: Persistence and PatternsCAnD3 is pleased to share the latest visualization publication “Time Use on Housework in Canada: Persistence and Patterns” published by Kamila Kolpashnikova, Zilin Li, and Amélie Quesnel-Vallée, that presents daily time use on housework in Canada. The study enhances understanding of housework participation from a daily time-use perspective. |

2020-21 CAnD3 Annual ReportThe 2020-2021 academic year was a period of resilience, adaptability, and growth for the CAnD3 community amid the challenges posed by the pandemic. Recognizing the critical role of data-driven decision-making in an ageing society, CAnD3 embraced its mission with renewed vigor. The program's team committed to delivering high-quality, remotely accessible training, leaning on best practices for virtual education to ensure impactful learning experiences. Fellows collaborated closely with the team, providing input that shaped the evolving program, which in turn fostered valuable partnerships and internship opportunities. With these strong foundations, CAnD3 looks ahead with optimism, eager to continue its journey toward supporting aging populations through robust, data-driven strategies. |

2024 CAnD3 Shark Tank DataViz Competition
The "CAnD3 Shark Tank Competition" provided our Fellows with an exciting chance to showcase their learning in a fun, low-stakes version of the popular TV show. This competition was hosted during the PopAging DataViz Workshop hosted at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Each participant or group had 2-3 minutes to pitch the story behind their data visualization, which they developed in just 36 hours using skills honed during the workshop. Rising to the challenge, they delivered compelling data stories to a panel of distinguished “sharks.” See their visualizations below!

2025 CAnD3 Dragon's Den Finals
The Dragon’s Den Finals took center stage on June 10th, 2025 at the 2025 CAnD3 Keynote Address, held at the McGill Faculty Club in Montréal. This friendly, fast-paced competition invited our top Fellows to pitch the story behind their data visualizations to a panel of expert “Dragons.” Finalists were selected following a semi-final round earlier in the semester, and each had just 2–3 minutes to make their case—transforming complex data into clear, compelling narratives. From health inequalities to intergenerational trends, the Fellows showcased the technical and communication skills they’ve developed throughout the program, demonstrating the power of data to inform and inspire.
