Research Area: Dynamics of Physiological Control
The focus is on the mathematical modeling of physiological processes at the cellular and molecular level. Recent work has emphasized on the periodic hematological diseases (such as cyclical neutropenia, cyclical thrombocytopenia, and periodic leukemia) and control of the tryptophan and lactose operons. My emphasis is always on biologically realistic mathematical models, careful consideration of laboratory and/or clinical data, and achieving a reasonable concordance between the data and the modelling.
Education: Ph.D. Physiology & Biophysics, University of Washington
