How to Apply

Preparing your application

Please send the following items to the Principal Investigator for the project you would be interested in working on.  

Required:

  1. A letter of intent (2 pages maximum, single spacing, Times New Roman, 12 pt font) describing:
    1. Your academic background and previous research experience
    2. Your interest in biomedical research and in pursuing graduate studies,
    3. Your academic and career goals
    4. How this summer internship will benefit you on a personal, academic and professional level
  2. All of your university transcripts showing your cumulative average (digitalized and/or unofficial copies accepted)
  3. Your résumé (CV)

Optional:

  • You may also submit a letter of recommendation from a professor who can attest to the quality of your academic achievement including, if applicable, any research experience you may have. This letter must be forwarded to us confidentially, by email, (sbms.medicine [at] mcgill.ca), and directly by its author.

 

Where do I send my application documents?

Please email to the Principal Investigator in charge of the project you would like to work on.

 

What happens after I apply?

The Principal Investigator will evaluate your submission and may contact you for an interview.  

The evaluation will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Interest in biomedical research
  2. Desire to pursue graduate studies in a field related to biomedical research
  3. Quality of the letter of intent
  4. Quality of the academic record

The results will be announced in February/March of 2024.
