Ricardo Chejfec is a research director at the Institute for Research on Public Policy, where he leads the Empowering Canada’s Workforce program and co-leads the Community Transformations Project. His research applies quantitative methods to Canadian labour market policy, such as measuring community-level exposure to U.S. trade shocks, modelling reform options for Employment Insurance, and examining how automation and AI are reshaping work.
He also oversees the quantitative side of the institute's in-house research and guides the research team on data analysis, visualization, and the use of AI in policy research. He was previously the IRPP's lead data analyst, and he holds a BA&Sc in cognitive science and an MPP from McGill University
