2021 IPN Open House

March 15-17, 2021

Virtual

Are you considering pursuing graduate studies in neuroscience at McGill University? Are you curious to learn about the interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research that is being done by IPN supervisors and students? Join us for our 2021 virtual Open House event from the comfort of your own home/office/lab!

Attend our "Get to Know Lab X" sessions for the opportunity to meet our supervisors and students, hear them present their research, and ask questions related to their work and lab.

Attend our very own alumni-studded career panel event titled "Women in Neuroscience: IPN Edition." Our panelists will share their own stories of being a graduate student and finding their professional niche. We will also delve into deep discussions about the role of women in science, academia and the industry; what progress has/is being made to help women enter science and related professional domains? What glass ceilings still exist for females to pursue graduate studies and careers in science?

Tuesday, March 16 @ 2:00 PM ET
"Get to Know Dr. Watt's Lab"

Dr. Alanna Watt (Associate Professor, Department of Biology, McGill University)

Dr. Watt's lab focuses on the development of brain circuits in both the healthy cerebellum and in animal models of ataxias, including spinocerebellar ataxia type 6 (SCA6) and ataxia of the Charlevoix-Saguenay region (ARSACS). They aim to understand the pathophysiology that underlies the onset of disease symptoms in ataxias, since this may lead to new insights into treatments or prevention for these devastating human disorders.
