Personal Investing: What’s Really Important? (Online)

Offered by the Health and Wellness Program as part of the 15th Annual Health and Wellness Fair
This session will provide:
- An introduction to Investing: what are the main choices, from stocks to bonds, mutual funds and GICs, and most importantly, what are the common mistakes that need to be avoided?
- An overview of McGill Personal Finance Essentials (MPFE), a free, online course offered in collaboration with RBC Future Launch and The Globe and Mail. MPFE is available in English and French and is taught by professors in the Desautels Faculty of Management. The course covers budgeting, borrowing, real estate and beyond and was developed to help Canadians improve their financial literacy.

About the Speaker
Dr. Croitoru joined McGill's Desautels Faculty of Management in 2000, where he teaches introductory finance, investments and asset pricing at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral level. He currently serves as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. He is also the Academic Director of the McGill Personal Finance Essentials free online course, which has attracted over 340,000 participants since it was launched in November 2019.
