Lab2Market is a nationwide program that helps brilliant minds in graduate programs and postdoctoral programs reimagine their futures. Throughout the program, they’ll discover their passion for entrepreneurship, build an entrepreneurial skillset, and connect with the network they need to turn their ideas into successful businesses.
McGill University is a delivery partner of the national Lab2Market programs.

Lab2Market Discover’s online exploratory program helps you explore entrepreneurship and the potential of transforming your academic research into a world-changing technologies.
Lab2Market Discover is offered to Quebec applicants and francophones across Canada through the Quebec Scientific Entrepreneurship (QcSE) Program at V1 Studio. The program's content and experience are consistent with Lab2Market Discover, offered to residents of other provinces and territories. Quebec applicants can learn more by clicking here.

L2M Validate Quebec - Winter 2027
Eligibility: Graduate researchers (Masters, PhD and Postdoc) from universities and colleges in Quebec who are interested in exploring research commercialization and entrepreneurship. This cohort will be delivered in English by V1 Studio.
Expected start date: January 18, 2027

L2M Validate Women in Research Prairies/Alberta - Winter 2027
Eligibility: Women graduate researchers (Masters, PhD, Postdoc) and women undergraduate students from universities and colleges in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, from all disciplines, who are interested in exploring research commercialization and entrepreneurship. This program will be co-delivered by the Prairies and Alberta Hubs.
Expected Start Date: January 11, 2027
Application deadline: July 28, 2026, 11:30 PM CDT
L2M Oceans / Validate - Winter 2027
Eligibility: Graduate researchers (Masters, PhD and Postdoc), recent graduates, or students from universities and colleges/polytechnics in Canada, developing ocean-related technologies, who are looking to test and evaluate their idea in the entrepreneurial landscape critically. This program will be delivered by The Ocean Startup Project in partnership with Memorial University.
Program dates: January 11 - March 25, 2027
Application deadline: August 11, 11:30 pm PDT
L2M Validate Foundations Quebec - Summer 2026
Eligibility: Graduate researchers (Masters, PhD and Postdoc) from universities and colleges in Quebec who are interested in exploring research commercialization and entrepreneurship. This program will be delivered by V1 Studio in English.
Program Dates: August 4 - 6, 2026
Application deadline: July 25, 2026
L2M Validate Foundations Dual-Use National - Summer 2026
Eligibility: Graduate researchers (Masters, PhD, Postdoc) from universities and colleges across Canada, from all disciplines, who are developing technologies with Dual-use or Defence related applications, and are interested in exploring research commercialization and entrepreneurship. This program will be delivered by the Dalhousie University. (Note: Cohort is delivered in the Atlantic time zone and sessions, will start at 10:00 am)
Program Dates: August 24, 26, and 28, 2026
Application deadline: August 17, 2026
