Prof.Celena Scheede-Bergdahl Comments on Exercise Benefits for Cancer Patients

Engaging in structured physical activity among cancer patients is associated with improved survival and reduced recurrence risk, going well beyond supportive care and symptom management, according to a new meta-analysis from Taiwan. 

These findings are part of a “paradigm shift” that has taken place over the past 15 years, commented Professor Celena Scheede-Bergdahl of McGill University's Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education.

Two NSERC Discovery Grants for McGill Education Researchers

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has awarded 122 McGill research projects funding from its Discovery Grants competition for a total investment of $30 million.  The Discovery Grants program is NSERC's largest and longest-standing program. Discovery Grants support ongoing projects with long-term goals, providing researchers with the flexibility to explore the most promising avenues of research as they emerge.

Valedictorian Ryan Dvorak Featured in McGill Reporter

Meet Ryan Dvorak, Faculty of Education's valedictorian for this year's convocation. The Faculty's second valedictorian from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Ryan, who has earned his B.Sc. (Honours), will have a personal story to share with us and some words of wisdom the entire audience will be able to learn from. In an interview with the McGill Reporter, Ryan said support from family, professors and peers shaped both his academic and personal growth.

Four FRQSC New Academics Grants Awarded in the Faculty of Education

Four academics staff members in McGill's Faculty of Education have been awarded Research Support for New Academics (NP) Grants from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC). This three-year program supports early-career researchers in establishing innovative and impactful research initiatives in the social sciences and humanities.
