On December 4, 2022, McGill University announced that the Office for Sexual Violence Response, Support and Education (OSVRSE) is revamping and expanding in 2023.

Specifically, the OSVRSE team will grow from two people to five people. This means that the original core positions of an Response Advisor and an Education Advisor will be joined by an Associate Director, a second Education Advisor, and an Administrative Coordinator. McGill reports that two of these hires are expected in January, a third by March, and the rest arriving before the beginning of the 2023–2024 academic year.

Professor Shaheen Shariff and the iMPACTS team have been working with OSVRSE on various projects over the past several years. We are excited to hear that OSVRSE is expanding, and we look forward to continue working with OSVRSE to address sexual and gender-based violence, support survivors/victims, and educate diverse communities about consent and related issues.

More information about OSRVSE, including how to report an incident of sexual violence, is available via the OSVRSE website. There are also many resources on the iMPACTS website.
