Opening of "In/Visible: Body as Reflective Site"

Published: 18 June 2019

The McClure Gallery and the Visual Arts Centre, in partnership with the IMPACTS Project, had a successful opening for the In/Visible: Body as Reflective Site exhibition.

The Visual Arts Centre is honoured and thrilled that Kama La Mackerel performed "Truth and Punishment" - a powerful, bold, and intricately woven performance - in the McClure Gallery on the evening of the In/Visible: Body as Reflective Site's opening. The opening was a great success, with many of the exhibiting artists present, as well as other partners and supporters. It was fabulous to have so many diverse voices in the space for the opening and to hear the important conversations sparked by the artworks in the show.

Dr. Shaheen Shariff, Lori Beavis, Maria Ezcurra, and Natasha Reid will be giving a talk on Wednesday June 19 at 4:30 pm in the gallery. More information about this talk, and the In/Visible: Body as Reflective Site exhibition is available here.
