The Civil Engineering Graduate Students Society (CEGSS) is proud to invite you to the 24th Annual CEGSS Conference on May 10th at Thomson House. The CEGSS conference is an annual tradition that aims to provide a friendly atmosphere for graduate students of the civil engineering discipline from universities in Canada to present their research and get acquainted with the research being conducted by their peers.
The conference proceedings will take place over the course of one day, from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The conference comprises of oral presentation sessions in addition to a poster session, covering all disciplines of civil engineering. Accordingly, we invite you to attend or participate in this event by either an oral presentation or a poster.
If interested please submit an abstract of your work using the attached template and email it to sarayu.rao [at] mail.mcgill.ca. The deadline for abstract submission is April 15th, 2017. Cash awards will be offered for the first three outstanding presentations and the best poster. No registration fee is required.

Welcome back!
A great big welcome to those of you who are new to our faculty, and welcome back to those of you who have returned for semester! We have at least four major events planned for this coming semester. If you have any ideas for activities for the coming year, do not hesitate to cegss.pgss [at] mail.mcgill.ca (email) us and let us know.

We would like to wish the best of luck to all those students who have graduated in the last semester. As always, we urge all our recent and past MEng graduates to keep in touch.

Activities board
The activities board will be updated as events are planned, so check back ever so often. All grad students on the email list will be notified of upcoming events a few days beforehand.
Other activities
There is a lot going on in and around this area that is a lot of fun. We, unfortunately, do not have the time to organize a trip to attend events this year, but if you have a chance, we highly recommend that you check them out.
If there is anything you would be interested in doing as a faculty, please feel free to let us know, and we will organize it for you.
