Note 1: As of the 2026–2027 academic year, the Course Catalogue reflects the updated psychology program requirements.
Students admitted before Fall 2026: Need to continue to follow the program requirements in effect prior to these changes. The program checklists listed below outline those requirements, which remain unchanged.
Note 2: PSYC 204 policy effective as of Fall 2025 for students admitted prior to Fall 2026:
For Major students: PSYC 204 is a prerequisite. If students have the MATH 203 exemption from CEGEP or advanced placement, they can choose to either: do the PSYC 204 prerequisite and still get elective credit, OR go directly to 305.
For Liberal students: PSYC 204 is part of program. If students have the MATH 203 exemption from CEGEP or advanced placement, they can choose to either: do PSYC 204 and still get credit, OR go directly to PSYC 305 and replace the credits for 204 with 3 credits at the 300 level or above in psychology.
Note 3: Psychology is no longer offering PSYC 212 Perception.
For students who already completed PSYC 212: This course will count as a required course for their program. For students who have not completed PSYC 212, they must replace this course with a 3-credit complementary PSYC course at the 300 level or above (excluding PSYC 305, also required). The Department generally discourages students from taking 300-level courses in U1 (with the exception of PSYC 305), so this requirement should be completed in U2 or later. Note that to apply to Honours Psychology, students must only have completed PSYC 204 (if they have not received advanced standing credit for MATH 203) as well as PSYC 211, PSYC 213, PSYC 215, and PSYC 305.
