Continuing Studies Courses

Typically, courses offered through the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) do not count towards an Arts degree. However, there are some exceptions

Registering for a School of Continuing Studies course for credit toward your Arts degree:

- The School of Continuing Studies courses with subject numbers that do not start with a C (except CHEM, certain management related courses, and a few McGill Writing Centre (MWC) courses that begin with CEAP, CESL, or CCOM as specified on the MWC website and in the eCalendar) are accepted for credit towards your Arts degree.

- You may register for School of Continuing Studies courses for credit on Minerva according to the dates indicated on the Minerva website for the Summer, Fall and Winter terms.

Registering for a School of Continuing Studies course not for credit:

- The School of Continuing Studies courses with subject numbers that do start with C (except CHEM, certain management related courses, and a few McGill Writing Centre (MWC) courses that begin with CEAP, CESL or CCOM as specified on the MWC website and in the eCalendar) are not for credit towards your Arts degree (including those registered as Exchange, Visiting or Special students).

- To register, go to the School of Continuing Studies, 688 Sherbrooke St. West, 11th Floor.

- Make the appropriate arrangements with the School, and their staff will add the course to your record.

- NOTE: You will not be able to request credit toward your Arts degree for these courses at a later date.
