Scholarship Opportunities for Incoming Students

Global Affairs Canada offers a number of scholarship opportunities available to support students who choose McGill as their study or research destination. The information provided below is intended for undergraduate students and international liaison officers and managers.

 Eligibility:
  • Undergraduate students who are nominated for exchange to McGill University by their Home institution. For a list of eligible partner universities, please visit our "Explore McGill exchange partners" page.

Deadline:

  • SEED: (Canada-ASEAN) deadline for the submission of the application and supporting documents for undergraduate students is March 7th, 2023. 
  • SEP: (Canada CARICOM, ELAP, Study in Canada) deadline for the submission of the application and supporting documents for undergraduate students is March 7th, 2023. 

Application:

Candidates interested in these scholarship programs should follow these steps:

  1. Only undergraduate students who are nominated for exchange to McGill University by their Home institution are eligible to apply. Contact your Home institution first to discuss the exchange application process at your Home institution. 
  2. Candidates must carefully read the scholarship program guidelines and have all their supporting documents on hand, before beginning their scholarship application.
  3. Candidates must submit their complete application with supporting documents to McGill by the deadline. McGill will then apply on behalf of the candidate(s) to Global Affairs Canada. Note: incomplete applications will not be submitted. Please be sure to have all of the supporting documents on hand.
  4. McGill will communicate the outcome to students via email.

Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED-ASEAN) - for students

Candidates must be citizens of the following ASEAN member states and be enrolled in an institution that is a McGill Abroad exchange partner within that country: Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Candidates must be citizens of the following CARICOM countries and be enrolled in an institution that is a McGill Abroad exchange partner within that country: Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago.

Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) Candidates must be citizens of the following ELAP countries and be enrolled in an institution that is a McGill Abroad exchange partner within that country: Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia Guidelines
Study in Canada Scholarships (SIC) Candidates must be citizens of the following SIC countries and be enrolled in an institution that is a McGill Abroad exchange partner within that country: Taiwan and Turkiye Guidelines
